Lockdown Result!
I've met my (very first!) IE - we're meeting up frequently since lockdown has been eased. We are having so much fun, our feelings towards each other are so strong! I hope this lasts awhile, and doesn't fizzle out after the summer. How do you eventually deal with an IE breakup?

They come & they go. That’s IE for you, so don’t get attached

I had a IE and we had a amazing 16 month affair ( a few years back!)
It was everything I wanted
But.. things change , life changes and our circumstances changed!
Enjoy every single naughty sexy passionate moment
And then... dust yourself down
Deep breath
Move on 😜

It’s hard when you decide to part, having an affair is having a connection with a person so it will hurt. But take the good from it. X

I'm still in touch with my first IE relationship from 11 years ago and I have had a few since then, some good and some not so good but it's been a huge learning curve and a lot has changed since I first joined.
The only thing I would say is enjoy each relationship for what it is and move forward only taking happy memories with you.....

You’re eventually breaking up one way or another. These things just all have a termination date. The sooner you realise that, the easier it becomes.

You have to be prepared to move on but if you end it you need to make sure they are clear that it’s over, no staying friends or leading anyone on

It's hard!
Depends on what the other person is like with the break.

The op seems happy to state that all is well and good. However the last few sentences suggest that the affair is likely to be short term. So I think their interest is in ending without damage to their wellbeing.
