So you are happy for the guy to take the risk but not yourself?
I agree....that is exactly what is implied

Men do that too you know ... especially those whose profile says "will reply to all messages" ... really???

As long as it is more than "Hi. You ok?" You'll stand out...

Because I always gauge the level of risk that’s why. If the site instantly gave out your password then I would be off this site like a flash.
If you think you are chatting to someone and you think possibly you may know them I.e. a colleague or neighbour, then I would think hard about sending my password.
If the site did it automatically and it was your neighbour or colleague you could be in serious trouble, I know you might say well they’re in the site too, but what if they are not discreet and don’t care about telling anyone who wants to hear that Martha from no. 62 is on a marital dating site,

Absolutely right !! .....messages get read and then........nothing ! ......really makes motivating yourself to put time and effort into composing a personalised message difficult. I agree..why bother !! Just send out a generic message first off and see if any ladies can be bothered to reply ( weeds out the many who are just on here for a bit of light entertainment.)

Why is it ridiculous and dangerous? There is always an inherent and unavoidable risk in giving your photo password.
It would simply " Level the playing field" which is a popular phrase in many profiles.

I think it doesn't matter in my experience, various introductions, witty ,polite agreement with comment in their profiles .....
Then alerted to "message read " but no reply
I know ladies you get inundated with eager guys and time your can be limited, but the few genuine ones (like me ) feel why did I bother.

Really?,
That’s a ridiculous suggestion. Why should that even be allowed?
That’s very dangerous territory
Can anyone tell me what the reference to Little Britain refers to from Magnapolack. I know I’m not good at joining up the dots but I’m a tad confused!

This is not you, its the norm unfortunately.
I often think the site should organise its software so that when someone views your password protected pics you are automatically given access to theirs. Now that really would change the ground rules!
