How far is too far?
How far is reasonable for an IE ,I don't drive but am happy to travel by train for meetings within an hour seems reasonable to me
How far have others travelled?

If you really want someone and it's doable then distance isn't am issue. You have people in the US crossing state lines by plane to meet!
That said the best distance is one that's as close as possible without the likelihood of bumping into that individual in normal life.
Maximum I travelled was 3hrs one way from London to Peterborough. We had two dates but she was a newby who got cold feel three times (I was patient, too patient). Thankfully I was able to cancel the hotel booking.

I did 260 mile trip and back regularly for someone a few years back then they decided to add on another few miles and take it to 350 miles. I could fit that in with business but eventual,ly the distance became a killer.
Now I have retired I have all the time in the world but no lover - lifes a beach!

For a IE to work, you certainly have to be local, or visiting the area often where you both can meet. Meets can take planning, more time travelling can mean less time spent together.
You both need to be able to meet in a location, that you have an excuse to visit, incase you get noticed by a friendly, for myself I’m in Manchester, but work in Leeds and London a lot so could very easily arrange meetings in these areas, but would struggle for say wales or further north, as I won’t have an excuse for these areas.

@Bikerdude69
I’ve recently had several messages from males who live in Devon and Somerset.
As much as I love these areas, for me, they are way out with reasonable travelling distance.
It would be a case of… sure I’ll meet you for a coffee.
I’ll just set of driving now and I’ll see you in nine hours 😂🤷🏼♀️🫤.
I also get messaged by males who live in London.
Some tell me… it’s only an hour by plane to London.
Me… and are you going to pick up the travel expenses eg… trains and taxis to and from the airports and the flight costs? 😂🤷🏼♀️
Some on here seriously need to get onto Google maps before messaging someone 😁.
Either that or buy a map… remember them 😁😉.

I don't get why I'm being contacted from women in London when I clearly state I'm in Manchester... just won't work

Unfortunately I’ve had to up my older age limit from 63 to 69.
Last year I was looking in 7 different counties/cities.
Now I’m up to 13 counties/cities to find, for want of a better expression, fresh meat 🙄🫤🤷🏼♀️.
By that I mean male members who haven’t been on the site for years, males who haven’t been suitable, time wasters, players etc… 🙄😏.
Any further North and I’ll be into the Highlands.
Any further South and I’ll be into the Midlands 😂.
Either that or the North Sea or the English Channel 😂🤷🏼♀️.

1 hour seems fair to me.

Depends on the indvidual - I flew to edinburgh for 18 months. throw in nice hotels - it was the relationship was the priority not the cost

I’ll often meet someone on IE in my county, but one of my first few questions will be “I’m in NR2, where are you?” A few times now I’ve had people match and say the same postcode, but we agree to not take it a step further, in case we see each other in the local pubs/shops.
This seems a shame, but I think it’s wise.
