Are all men designed to cheat?

The recent public revelations about Tommy Fury's infidelity have sparked widespread conversation.
Most people would say she's pretty perfect so why should he feel the need to cheat?  Would you agree that no matter how great a woman is a man will still cheat as it's in his DNA?

As with all news and social media stories, we done know the context or background of Tommy Fury’s relationship, there can be any number of reasons for his actions.

I think that everyone here would be able to legitimise their infidelity and I don’t believe that it’s a built-in trait for either gender.

The key thing to remember is that infidelity is a choice, it’s not a biological necessity.

It’s a matter of choice. You will or you won’t. Imo.

The question should be: are all men and women designed to cheat?

Didn't you notice? We're on a website where men and women cheat

You've invoked Godwin's law.

For those of us that think that this subject can be offered as ‘compare us to the animal kingdom dot com..or ‘ let’s psychoanalyse monogamy/marriage dot org then clearly you need to get out more …this programme was created from the idea that ‘perfect ‘ bodies can have the ‘best’ relationships ....you only have to look towards Europe in 1940/45 where a certain man tried to create a ‘master race’ but he forgot to include human emotions in the equation….now there is food for thought ?

I’m not sure that either gender are designed to be with just one partner. Rather marriage/ monogamy is a (arguably necessary) social construct largely designed to bring up children.

Interestingly women are far more likely to become pregnant from a new partner/ an affair. From an evolutionary perspective a bigger gene pool means her offspring have a better chance of survival. As with other animals (such as cats) who can become pregnant and have young from more than one male.

You could of course turn that thought on it's head. Were "men" (and women) designed to "play the field". You don't have to look too far across the animal kingdom to see how many biological male species "play the field". Do we interpret that as cheating? As humans we layer civilisation over the top of nature. We then introduce societal rules that we expect us all to live by - a code of conduct. Are we therefore saying we (humans) are a greater force than nature? That we can by pass evolution and nature? Just sayin'
