About Me:

Ryan Gosling and I were chatting the other day about what makes a good profile* We agreed that it should be authentic and not try to be everything to everybody. So, here goes:

I am an intelligent, thoughtful and community orientated guy. I am a good listener (I have had to be in my career), cool under fire and supportive of people. I have a great sense of humour, some emotional intelligence (c'mon that's not bad for a bloke) and with strong values (I know "what am I doing on IE?"). Overall, my friends think I am a good egg and respectable member of society.

On the flip side, I also have a naughty persona. Always happy to explore the naughty side of someone else in a light hearted but respectful and consensual way. Sadly the naughty side is no longer required at home. I am not giving up on my naughty side, hence I am here. However I am not into bedhopping or carving notches. I don't have the time or energy and that is all a bit shallow for me.

All the usual stuff about discretion and not upsetting existing relationships apply. I am cultured and well read, to the extent, that is helpful in the circumstances which bring us here.

Ideal Partner:

I am not sure that it is possible to describe an ideal partner in abstract, but here are things I like in a partner. If you have a few of them, we will at least have a basis to chat a little:

A sense of fun and humour;
A quest for something extra in your life and prepared to take the risk to grasp it;
Acceptance that I am know longer a knight in shining armour (it has begun to rust a little with age) and I am a bit moth eaten like a favourite old teddy bear;
An intelligent appreciation of the world;
Be able to have rambling conversations about stuff that interests you over a glass of something;
Enjoy smart dressing up as well casual dressing down;
Enjoyment of the arts and books would be a plus, but not necessary; and
Decency and respect notwithstanding that we are on IE. Being a sinner is not an excuse for impoliteness or aggression.

If you are based outside London or the Home Counties (sounds very Radio 4), unless you are here regularly, it is unlikely to work.

The most important thing for me is to be able to meet someone who is happy to talk about life and the world around us, enjoys lunch or evening drinks, and is happy to go to a gallery or concert or some other conversation stimulating event. This is not a sprint to the bedroom. It is about intimacy and not mindless, cold sex.

So, if you have several of those qualities, ping me a message. I always reply. What is there to lose?
