Life is too short to take too seriously, but at the same time it is exciting, full of opportunity and abundant possibilities. I believe in exploring, learning, listening, being curious and discovering. I believe we can learn as much from a quiet conversation in the pub as a university lecture, i don't believe in snobbery or high mindedness. Just in openness.

I'm creative soul at heart, happiest in the kitchen creating something to please people I care for or on a mountain having my mind blown by the pure expanse and beauty of our planet. I love kicking around London, discovering little bars or restaurants, exhibitions or concerts the ones that need to be given a second look to be noticed. I adore just walking and talking nonsense, putting the world to rights or creating the perfect soundtrack for my life.

From a practical point of view, I"m in and out of London every week and loads of flexibility in my life, so I can do weekdays, weekends and more with a bit of planning and for the right person.Whilst London would be my preference, let's not rule anything out if the chemistry is there.

I'm tall and slim. When I was 30 I promised myself I'd have the same size jeans when I got to 50 and I'm proud to say that I do. The great thing about being a 42" waist is that there are always some left on the shelf.....(please feel free to laugh any time about now).

I'm told I have wicked eyes and a wicked smile. I'm not short of female interest but I think this is more a combination of looks and personality, rather than one or the other. I didn't fall off the ugly tree, but I'm not a Hollywood film star. My daughter said her friends describe me as a DILF. I'm still trying to process that.

Ideal Partner:

OK, I've thought a lot about this. I've been on the site before in the past and I've since realised that I was kidding myself about what I was looking for. Get this, I actually want a friend. Who'd have thunk? So that isn't the end, of course not. I want complicity, I want the frisson, I want the eroticism and the tenderness. I want the sex that makes you go completely weak at the knees - I'm a complete perv - but a nice one.

But more and more, I realise that I want the dinners, the trips to the theatre, the conversations and the correspondence that makes me feel desired, wanted and special. I want someone (singular) special in my life that is a safe and happy place to be, a special place to be, in a world of continuous demand and pressure.

But before you hit the big red PANIC button, I don't want to leave my wife or interfere with anyone else's relationship either. People come on here because they have something missing in their relationship. I'm no different.

Well, actually I am.

I'm completely special.

Whilst I don't want a penpal, at the end of the day this is about meeting someone, I do want to get to know you a little bit first. So if your idea of a first message is, "fancy swapping passwords", (by which you don't mean swap, you mean "send me your password so I can decide whether to give you mine"), that simply isn't going to work. Not because I have anything to hide, but because I can guarantee you won't be my type. It's important to me to know if there is a vibe before taking it to the next stage.

Age bracket is an outline, mindset and approach to life is more important than chronological age.
