About Me:

I am a widower and I am on this site rather than a more conventional dating site because I am looking only for an intimate and close friendship, not for a new wife or partner, nor a series of one night stands: a friendship that is intimate and sexually fulfilling for both of us, but with a certain degree of commitment: an understanding that we meet as frequently, or as infrequently, as is right for both of us, recognising that we both have independent lives, but lives that are missing physical closeness and sensuality. So I am seeking a lady friend whose love of sexual pleasure goes unrecognised or unfulfilled, either in her marriage or because she is now living alone for whatever reason, and who will find in me a complement to her.
I am not a modern man. I am distinctly traditional in many of my ways and outlook particularly where such things as manners and courtesy are concerned. I enjoy good music, good food, classic literature, films, theatre, poetry and the visual arts. I like history, museums, galleries, churches, fine dining, travel and the countryside.
My best feature is my mind, with my voice a close second. I have a dry sense of humour am a little over six feet tall with broad shoulders and not much hair left. I would describe my build as, for my age, athletic and muscular.

Ideal Partner:

Having spent many years in a loveless, sexless marriage, while I miss sex, of course, it is so much more than that. I miss perhaps even more the physical, emotional and sensual delicacies that are so much part of the anticipative joy of lovemaking: the hand-holding, the gentle caressing, the long, slow lingering kisses, all those things that infuse the spirit as well as the physical desire. I am looking for a relationship in which, when we cannot meet, we can still keep in touch with one another, with that sense of excited longing about receiving the next message - that heart-stopping moment when one sees a particular name pop up - a continual simmering of desire between physical meetings.
I am seeking a lady between fifty-five and seventy-five. I think I am unlikely to appeal to ladies younger than mid-fifties (though I am perfectly willing to be proved wrong). We do not have to share every interest and attitude to life because neither of us is looking for a new life-partner. But we will be able to converse easily and intelligently with one another, share laughs, ironies and many of the pleasures of life as we explore each other as people and friends.
