About Me:

Hi, not sure where this will lead but let's give it a go...... So, I'm David, a pretty normal guy - no unsavoury habits or vices, I drink socially, don't smoke, take drugs or gamble. Generally, steady and calm, not a drama queen (are we still allowed to say this??) - maybe even a teeny bit boring. I'm married (no surprise there) but want to stay that way - it is a good relationship but more like brother and sister than man and wife. I won't go into details here as to how we ended up like this, better explained in a conversation on another occasion. I've had a busy, interesting career (lots of travel) but now semi-retired with more time on my hands. I keep pretty fit, outdoors-y, often up in the hills, ski most winters.

I guess what I'm looking for is someone who can help fill the gaps in my life...... someone I can talk to about anything and everything, someone to laugh with, someone who's also missing something. I am quite tactile, I miss simple things like holding hands, kissing or a head resting on my shoulder. I'm not looking for one night stands - I'd like to build a close friendship with someone who I can meet regularly (which is what I mean when I ticked 'Long Term Relationship' - I don't mean running away with someone and living happily ever after in a cottage with roses round the door!). But let's take it slowly and see where it leads.

A couple more things..... I ticked hair colour as "Other". No, it's not bright red, just a mix of my natural blond and some rather distinguished grey(!) - how it looks depends on whether the sun is shining. I also currently have a George Clooney style beard (who am I kidding?!) but if this is a problem it is negotiable for the right person....maybe time for a change anyway.

I guess I'm looking for is someone who is in a similar situation to me - someone with something missing from their life but who doesn't want to rip it up and start again.

Conversation is important - someone I can talk to about anything and everything, someone with a similar sense of humour. From that point of view, looks, age, race, religion etc. are relatively unimportant.

One of the biggest things I miss is the touch of another person. I am quite tactile, I miss simple things like holding hands, kissing or a head resting on my shoulder. I used to have a high sex drive but it's become less important and it's not the reason why I have joined this site.

I'd like to find someone who I can meet regularly (which is what I mean by 'Long Term Relationship'). That probably means someone living in the North West (Lancashire/Cumbria/Manchester/Liverpool etc.). Weekdays probably work best for me - sorry, getting far too practical!!

I'm happy to take things slowly and see what happens. Everyone is different, everyone is on here for their own reasons, and everyone's situation is different. I'm not here to judge anyone.
