Lots of good replies here offering excellent advice but on a more practical basis........when you discover your IE and decide to move things forward then discuss/agree some ground rules ASAP. This could be zero contact, kissing, touching in public......coded messages/texts to initiate safe contact......enter/leave meeting places separately.
One small mistake could lead to a major headache but the “secret service” behaviour can add to the fun 👍

Be honest and truthful
Respect others and their feelings
Except to be let down a few times but don't let the bad ones put you off some of us on here a genuine.
As most have said if you preserve and stay true to yourself you will find what you are looking for.

Its like searching for a needle in a haystack, be patient, but also resilient as there can be a lot of knocks to confidence as you search for your IE.

Always be yourself and as stated earlier behave with lots of manners. Do not always expect the same level of respect back, but rise above any bad feelings as there will be somebody out there.

Also do not be taken in by individuals who are too forward as they are probably false profiles who have got past the IE administrators until reported.

My previous long term IE had a major panic about a City Centre parking ticket so this is one thing to be very careful of and avoid.

I would say be honest and enjoy the experience of getting to know someone new. When you do meet just relax and be yourself. Remember the person sitting opposite you is probably more nervous than you are. Once you get past that stage your IE can be very enjoyable, but it won’t last forever.

Don't change your usual routine. So if you're normally in bed by 10pm, don't suddenly stay awake till midnight messaging your IE

If the dog gets walked once a day, don't start taking it out 4 times a day so you can call your IE.

I don't have a second phone, if it's found then instant suspicion at home as to why i have 2 phones.

Get your credit card bill and phone bill sent to you by email not by post. And be careful of parking tickets, speeding etc.
