Does marriage have an expiry date?

Think about what the average life expectancy was when marriage was invented. At 40, you were old and at 50 often dead. So staying married beyond that is stretching a rubber band across a yard.

I'll look on the packaging, it's not been unwrapped for some time.

it definitely has an expiry date when one suffers what I have to put up with, or experiences as expressed by Chanel No.5.

My marriage had an end life. I’m separated now and I do’nt want a full time real relationship. My problem is finding a man to see on the weekends that my daughter is at her dads

The fact we are all here suggests it does at an emotional level if not a practical or physical level.
Being on IE has led me to the belief that one person can’t really deliver on all the major food groups you need for life. As such, and having found someone who delivers on most of them, here i am for the missing 5%.
I think there is a real danger of mistaking an affair for a full relationship and seeing that what you may find here could exist in the ‘real world’ on a permanent basis

Yes it does ... mine expired about 5 years ago when I realised what a temper he had. I’m walking on eggshells most of the time. I shouldn’t have to put up with this or be scared. Third time married and my longest stretch. 😂
That is not a good situation and if you have a violent partner, focus on getting away. From your profile it looks like your looking for a new husband. Your talk of wanting someone prepared to leave their partner is worrying.
I hope you are safe but please be careful and don't complicate things

I believe it does if you have married at a young age driven by hormones and social pressure to conform. You grow up, you change and often at different rates - sometimes it works out but it's ok to admit it doesn't and that you grew too far apart . Life is too short to muddle along due to.apathy - maybe we should have contracts for an agreed time frame, which are then reflected on and either renewed or cancelled - focus rather than apathy..
