Dutch courage is a commonly used expression ... different to "going Dutch" which, as you say, is splitting the bill.

I joined IE because I had a couple of risky encounters with people from work due to too much alcohol and opportunity at conferences etc. Since joining IE always sober......the sex is a lot better and prevents poor decision making :)

Have terrible nerves on first date as very socially awkward thinking "Does my arse look big in this dress ?" but wouldn't have a drink if driving.
Just to clarify one speaks Dutch in Holland plus quote me if I'm wrong doesn't going Dutch mean splitting the bill? 🤔

No drink required before but if its a pub why not, its only going to be 1 as normally driving but what's the harm...none!

No never or on a first date I don't get butterflies either I never expect too much then if you like each other it's a bonus some pple can be very different when you meet face to face
