I think more often a true affair originates from a group, circle of friends, parents at schools, evening classes etc. Where folk have time for genuine feelings to develop.

MissGG....I agree that this process isn't what most people imagine is an affair .My definition would be more when you meet by accident and it's an organic process.This is deliberate and what I'd think of as more of an arrangement. Calling it an affair is really a polite terms so it doesn't seem so venal, and possibly more appealing to romantics.

The talking about marriage comment is so true. Things were great between me and my ie at first but after only a couple of weeks of chatting, all she talked about was her husband and mother in law and how much she despised them 😴😴
