Isn't there profile a place to set it your wants? I don't think these two options are exclusive. If you want to be 'genuine' then you will attract that type of woman, but a humorous profile isn't less genuine. It just means you attract the type of woman who gets your humour.

Trying to work out the best thing to write so you can attract someone is advertising copy. Better just to do what you want so she knows who you are.

Distance isn't always a good idea....it may be ok in the beginning of your relationship but it does get tedious and it takes a strong partnership to make it work...it does work for some and I know this from experience...😊

More than an hour away is not usually sustainable.

If your prospective partner lives miles awayand is working away from home and near you then that can work but maybe not in the longer term. Contracts end, working practices change and people change jobs. It may also mean that they can only meet weekday evenings if they return home at weekends.

Most of the messages I get ( Maybe 80% of them) are from ladies hundreds of miles away despite my profile being very clear about distance. What's that all about?

Another constraint is mutual free time. That's another problem even if distance isn't.
