Language

Does language constitute an obstacle in dating the other party, for people whose language is weak because they are new to the country?

I am with you on the ASMR response to certain accents making me melt gunther 🫠

Some Scottish and European accents are lush. I sound quite posh apparently with a slightly husky tone (only realised when I started doing VN šŸ˜‚).

Words are powerfull and those that can utilise their experiences through this medium are very lucky indeed…some just haven’t got the experiences or are not articulate enough to deal with the situation….its about charisma and flirting and some guys just ooze it but unfortunately this is generally ā€˜ built in’ or they have had specific training…the tone of voice has some bearing and facial expressions help….this is why some women are sexy and others are not … it’s already there but you just need to access it šŸ˜‰

Seeing I have an awful one, I find accents away from my own, fascinating. Regardless of how we pronounce our words, having a good grasp of language and being able to successfully communicate our thoughts - particularly in this unforgiving virtual space - can be the difference between getting a meet or being ignored. What perhaps is more relevant, is finding a person at our own level who can relate to and appreciate the way in which we express ourselves.

Fwiw, the language of of the bedroom goes beyond borders šŸ˜‰

Intelligent women usually sound amazing whatever their accent. I love a slightly clicky lips/mouth/tongue sound when someone speaks. It’ makes me melt in an ASMR response. But this question is about language not diction.

Language difficulties for people new to a country are easily forgiven, and usually easy to spot. Just because someone may have been in the country for a long time it doesn’t mean they will make fewer grammatical errors. Their communication can still make them less attractive. I’m not convinced it is that big a barrier.

Language does constitute a big obstacle. But not because someone is new to the country. It's because that person, while British, can barely write, and therefore can barely think. Given that I am after a smart lady, nothing turns me off faster than someone who can only use text-speak, struggles to complete a one-liner, or is fundamentally confused about their/they're/there.
I don't know how that person can express feelings, or hold a conversation over dinner.
Maybe I am unusual, but my best IE experiences were with non-native speakers. They were incredibly sophisticated users of the English language and - unsurprisingly - were exceptional ladies in many more ways.
Language is a beautiful thing - let's protect it, innit? Lol.

But with that said... A good exotic accent can be quite the aphrodisiac as well!!! And typically found on non-english natives.

šŸ˜ Anyone?
