A balance of both I think. A good sense of humour is a prerequisite for me but I also like to see a profile that is clear and paints a true picture of the person before making contact with them

personally I’m a big fan of total, unadulterated honesty, which is why I always tell women in messages about the fungus I can’t get off my beige Y-fronts and my enthusiasm for drinking Tesco sherry and falling into commercial wheelie bins. Do I win £10?

This is tricky as humour using text messaging can get lost in translation and often does in my case. I've tried to reign in attempting too much humour but it tends to naturally slip out as soon as I begin exchanging messages.....pardon the pun.

A mixture of both. Main thing being it is a true reflection of who you are in real life not the person behind a keyboard. Had many disappointments over the years with a false persona.

I agree with quite a few who have said a mix of the 2. The most important thing is if you send a message and you get an im interested reply please reply even if its to say you've changed your mind.
Its so frustrating to get a message which you reply to and then silence
I've started to wait and if after a few weeks silence I send a "you are rude" message. Hopefully they get the message and the next lady won't get the treatment.
