To Clown or Not to Clown?
What's better - a witty, tongue in cheek profile, or something more genuine/serious?
Do women prefer funny or earnest 🙂

I think a bit of both otherwise it can come across as superficial. Some people are humourous and others aren't, so depends who you want to attract...someone like-minded or to be the star of the show

A bit of both is appreciated. Personally someone who makes me laugh and makes me wonder what she is going to do next will always go to top of my list. Personality is key.

A mix is good me thinks, if I can’t make someone smile from time to time it probably isn’t going to work out.

I think a mixture of both. Genuine with a bit of flirting.

I think anything that gets your personality across is good...

I have lost count how many times I have been knocked back. You gotta brush it off and keep going. Put what your heart and mind wants and go with the flow. Those who use the site generic profile are easily spotted.

Write in a way that best reflects your genuine personality. It will put some people off but attract the ones that are right for you.

Perhaps we are asking the wrong question. The implication is you want to put something that would attract others. But, do you really want to attract the wrong others?
It isn’t one size fit all. And with our busy lives there isn’t a space for all anyway.
Just be who you are, and let the right other find you.
