A polite no?
So as I’m here looking for an IE lots of people spring up that I’m not physically attracted too, how do you let that person down without sounding horrible and blunt?
I’m a nice person and I find telling people you’re not my type really offensive so I end up ghosting them which is also bad but how else can I say it?

“Civility costs nothing but buys everything. Politeness costs nothing. Courtesy costs nothing”. The full proverb means that, while it does not take much effort, being nice or courteous toward someone can have exponential rewards. Do unto others … 🤷🏻♂️

Mature BBW..
Not sure I totally agree with your ghosting verses retaliation theory…at least with a ‘No Thanks’ you know where you are…but ‘👻’ turn into the undead..Ha ha 🧟♂️ …they always return and sometimes it’s YEARS later..

I guess for you men in the forum who are no longer gold members you cannot reply with a polite no.
It is easier for us women, we can reply.
Going back to the question, I feel I wouldn't like to be ghosted so I reply people wishing them well. Most people appreciate it.
I came across someone who I gave a polite no a few weeks back, he contacted me again recently, questioning me why I am still on IE!
In answer to the question, I met a couple of nice men before my IE, no spark but I was brave enough to say it was no chemistry. They appreciated that.
I personally hate ghosting and wouldn't want it on me nor I would inflict on anyone

Think of the person blocking us as doing us a favour. They probably won’t have anything in common with us anyway 😊

I was blocked for replying a polite "sorry, thanks but no thanks as too far" ... 🤷🏻♀️

I'd be ok with a 'not my type but thanks' message. Had a guy that sent that after seeing my pics then blocked me - the blocking felt rude, not the message! Were they worried I wouldn't take no for an answer?!? 🤣

There is no harm in being polite and letting someone know that they aren't your type. We just have to accept that we aren't for everyone. That's life. 😆

I agree.
Ghosting is so much kinder than the rejection messages followed up often by unnecessary vitriolic retaliation.
I absolutely am NOT impressed by good looks but by a kind and compassionate nature more.
